From 17^th to 18^th December, 2022, the 4^th National Academic Conference and General Conference of Dental and Alveolar Surgery Committee of Chinese Stomatological Association was held in Wuhan, Hubei Province. Prof. Zhao Jihong of the School of Stomatology of Wuhan University was elected as the second chairman of the committee, Dr. Li Zhige, the chief physician of the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery of our hospital, was re-elected as the standing committee member of the second dental and alveolar surgery committee, and Associate Prof. Zhang Baoping served as a youth member.

This academic conference is focused on in-depth discussion on the surgical operation, autologous tooth transplantation, immediate implantation, nerve injury, pain, bleeding and other common problems in the field of alveolar surgery. Academic exchange forms such as expert lectures, keynote speeches and interactive discussions are set up to provide cross-guidance, mutual help and learning, and jointly promote the high-quality development of dental and alveolar surgery. Dr. Li Zhige, Chief Physician, served as the host of some academic conferences. Fan Baoquan, a 2021 master student of our school, delivered a speech entitled "A Case of Minimally Invasive Extraction of Bilateral Mandibular Second Premolar Impacted by Ultra-low Position", and made a detailed report on the risk factors of nervus mentalis injury and the key points to avoid this injury during extraction of impacted teeth in the mental foramen area.
